Using the Timeline
Your main memory feed — browse, star, heart, and manage all your memories in one place.
The Timeline is the heart of Memory Murals. It is the first thing you see when you open the app, and it is where all your memories live, sorted by date with the most recent at the top.
What You See on Each Memory Card
Every memory in your Timeline shows:
- Title — a short name for the memory (you write it or AI generates one)
- Date — when the memory happened
- Story preview — the first few lines of your notes
- Tagged people — family members connected to this memory
- Photos — any images or media you attached
Tap any memory card to expand it and see the full story, all tagged people, and every photo at full size.
Starring Important Memories
Tap the star icon on any memory to mark it as important. Starred memories float to the top of your Timeline so they are always easy to find. This is perfect for milestone moments, favorite stories, or anything you want to revisit often.
Hearting Memories You Love
Tap the heart icon to mark memories you love. This is a lighter way to highlight favorites without moving them to the top. Think of it as a personal bookmark.
Marking Memories as Private
Some stories are just for you. Tap the lock icon or toggle the private setting when editing a memory. Private memories are only visible to you — no one else in your family can see them, even if they have access to your account.
Private by Default
You are always in control. No memory is ever shared unless you choose to share it. The private toggle adds an extra layer for stories you want to keep completely to yourself.
Real-Time Updates
Your Timeline updates instantly. If you add a memory on your phone and then open the app on your computer, it is already there. No syncing, no waiting, no refresh button needed.
Getting Started
If your Timeline feels empty, that is completely normal. Start with one memory — maybe something that happened today, or a favorite story from childhood. You can always add more later. The Timeline grows with you, one story at a time.
