Your Trust is Our Foundation

Memory Murals is built on a foundation of privacy and respect for your story. You are always in control.

The Single-Owner Model

One person owns the story. The Owner is the only one who can create, edit, or delete memories. This eliminates confusion and protects the integrity of your timeline.

Read-Only by Default

Family and friends you invite are 'Viewers.' They can experience the timeline and cherish the memories, but they cannot make any changes. Your story remains yours to tell.

Optional Legacy Access

Your Legacy is a private space for deeper reflections. By default, no one can see your Legacy entries. You have the granular control to grant Legacy access to specific individuals if you choose.

Our Unbreakable Promises

No Ads, Ever

Your memories are not a product. We will never interrupt your experience with advertising.

No Selling Data

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data or your memories with third parties for marketing.

No Public Sharing

Memory Murals is a closed system. There are no public profiles or options to share memories on social media.

Enterprise-Grade Security

Your family memories are protected by the same security infrastructure used by banks, hospitals, and Fortune 500 companies.

AES-256 Encryption at Rest

Every photo, voice recording, document, and story you upload is encrypted at rest using AES-256 — the same encryption standard trusted by the U.S. government and major financial institutions.

TLS 1.2+ Encryption in Transit

All data traveling between your device and our servers is protected by TLS 1.2 or higher encryption, ensuring no one can intercept your memories in transit.

SOC 2 & ISO 27001 Infrastructure

Memory Murals runs on Google Cloud Platform, which holds SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, and ISO 27001 certifications — the gold standard for data security and compliance.

Secure Authentication

Your account is protected by industry-standard authentication with HTTP-only secure cookies, automatic token refresh, and email-verified sign-in. No passwords are stored in plain text.

Your data is stored in geographically redundant data centers with automatic failover, ensuring your memories are protected even against hardware failures or natural disasters.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

Memory Murals ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Memory Murals website at memorymurals.com, the web application at app.memorymurals.com, and the Memory Murals mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via Firebase Authentication. You may also sign in with Google, in which case we receive your Google profile name and email.

Content You Create: Memories, stories, voice recordings, photos, videos, documents, family member profiles, and Legacy entries that you voluntarily add to the Service. This content is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage.

Device Permissions (Mobile App): With your explicit permission, the mobile app may access your device's camera (to take photos for memories), microphone (to record voice notes and stories), and photo/media library (to upload existing photos and videos). You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe may collect payment details per their own privacy policy.

Usage Data: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited and feature usage to improve the Service. This data is not tied to your personal content.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To process your subscription and payments via Stripe
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmations, support replies, trial reminders) via Resend
  • To power AI features (voice transcription, title generation, memory search) using Google Gemini — your content is processed server-side and is not used to train AI models
  • To respond to support requests

3. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or content with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes
  • We do not display advertising of any kind
  • We do not use your content to train AI models
  • We do not make your content publicly accessible — Memory Murals is a private, closed system

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) infrastructure, which holds SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, and ISO 27001 certifications. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Authentication uses HTTP-only secure cookies with automatic token refresh.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Memory Murals:

  • Firebase (Google Cloud) — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Google Gemini — AI-powered features (server-side only)
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymized usage analytics
  • Vercel — web application hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your content is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual memories, media, or family members at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, visit our account deletion page or use the "Delete Account" option in your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and cascading — all memories, media, family members, Legacy entries, and profile data will be permanently removed.

7. Children's Privacy

Memory Murals is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings. You can export your data, revoke device permissions, or delete your account entirely. If you have questions about your data, contact us at support@memorymurals.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
