Event Mode

Create shared events for weddings, reunions, and gatherings. Guests upload photos with a simple link.

Event Mode lets you create a shared photo collection for any gathering. Guests upload photos from their phones using a simple link or QR code — no Memory Murals account needed.

Creating an Event

  1. Open the profile menu and tap Events
  2. Tap "Create Event"
  3. Choose an event type: Birthday, Wedding, Reunion, Graduation, Holiday, or Baby Shower
  4. Enter a name for your event (e.g., "Sophie's Wedding" or "Family Reunion 2026")
  5. Add a welcome message — this is what guests see when they open the upload link
  6. Pick the event date
  7. Tap "Create Event"

You'll get a shareable link and QR code immediately.

Sharing with Guests

After creating an event, share the link with your guests:

  • Copy the link and send it via text, email, or group chat
  • Download the QR code and print it for tables, signs, or invitations
  • Guests scan or click to open the upload page on their phone
  • No account needed — guests just enter their name and upload photos

QR Codes for In-Person Events

Print the QR code on table cards or display it on a screen at your event. Guests can scan with their phone camera to start uploading instantly.

How Guests Upload

When a guest opens your event link, they see:

  1. Your event name and welcome message
  2. An upload area where they tap to select photos
  3. A place to enter their name
  4. An optional caption field
  5. A live gallery of all photos uploaded so far

Guests can upload multiple times and see everyone else's photos in real-time.

Managing Uploads

As the event owner, go to Events > [Your Event] to manage:

  • View all uploads in a photo gallery
  • See who contributed with guest names on each submission
  • Add to Timeline — save individual uploads as memories on your personal timeline
  • Dismiss — remove uploads from your review queue (photos stay in the event gallery)
  • Close uploads — stop accepting new photos when the event is over
  • Reopen uploads — start accepting photos again if needed

Adding Event Photos to Your Timeline

When you tap "Add to Timeline" on a submission, Memory Murals creates a new memory on your timeline with:

  • The event title and guest name as the title
  • The guest's caption as notes
  • All photos from that submission
  • The event date

If you later delete the memory from your timeline, the event page will automatically show "Add to Timeline" again so you can re-add it.

How Many Events Can I Create?

  • Free plan — 1 event with up to 50 guest uploads
  • During your free trial — up to 3 events with 200 guest uploads each
  • Premium (Memory Keeper) — unlimited events with up to 500 guest uploads each

Guests never need to pay or create an account. These limits only apply to you as the event creator.
