Question Queue
Let your family submit questions that inspire new memories and stories.
Sometimes the best stories are the ones nobody thinks to ask about. The Question Queue lets your family members submit questions directly to you — prompts for stories you might not think to tell on your own.
How It Works
- A family member with access to your account submits a question
- The question appears in your Account section under Question Queue
- You can answer the question (which creates a new memory) or skip it for now
It is that simple. Your family asks, you tell.
What Makes It Different From Legacy Prompts
Memory Murals also has a Legacy section with 46 guided storytelling prompts — questions like "What is your earliest childhood memory?" or "What is the best advice you ever received?"
The Question Queue is different because:
- Your family writes the questions, not the app
- Questions are personal and specific — "What really happened at Aunt Linda's wedding?" vs. a generic prompt
- It is a conversation — your family guides what stories they want to hear
Two Ways to Discover Stories
Use Legacy prompts when you want guided inspiration on your own. Use the Question Queue when you want your family to steer the storytelling. Both create memories that live in your Timeline.
Examples of Great Family Questions
The best questions are specific and personal:
- "What was it like the day I was born?"
- "Tell me about your first car"
- "What did you and Grandpa used to argue about?"
- "What was your favorite thing about living on Oak Street?"
- "What is something about our family that most people do not know?"
These are the kinds of stories that get lost when nobody thinks to ask. The Question Queue makes sure they get asked.
Tips for Getting Good Questions
- Tell your family the feature exists. They cannot submit questions if they do not know about it.
- Answer the first one quickly. When family members see that you actually respond, they will submit more.
- Do not worry about polish. A two-minute voice recording answering your daughter's question is more valuable than a perfectly written essay that never gets started.
- Check your queue regularly. New questions sitting unanswered can discourage your family from submitting more.
The Bigger Picture
The Question Queue turns memory preservation into a family activity instead of a solo project. Your family tells you what they want to know, and you give them the stories only you can tell. It is one of the most direct ways to make sure the right stories get preserved.
