Setting Up Your Profile

Personalize your Memory Murals account with your name, photo, and notification preferences.

Your profile is how Memory Murals knows you. Take a minute to personalize it — add your photo, update your name, and choose how you'd like to be reminded to capture memories.

How to Access Your Profile

Tap your profile avatar (or the menu icon) in the top corner of the app
Select Account
You'll see your profile settings, subscription info, and preferences all in one place

Update Your Name

Your display name appears on your profile and throughout the app. To change it:

Tap the name field on the Account screen
Type your preferred name
Changes save automatically

This is your name, not a username

There are no usernames in Memory Murals. Your name is just for personalization — it's private to your account and not visible to anyone else.

Upload Your Avatar Photo

Adding a profile photo makes the app feel more personal. Here's how:

Tap your avatar circle on the Account screen
Choose a photo from your device
The image uploads and appears across the app — in the header, on your profile, and anywhere your name shows up

Your avatar is stored securely in your private Firebase Storage space. You can change it anytime by tapping the avatar again and selecting a new photo.

Pick a photo that feels like you

It doesn't need to be formal. A candid shot, a favorite selfie, or even a photo from a cherished memory works perfectly. This is your space.

Notification Preferences

Memory Murals can send you gentle reminders to help you keep building your family's story. On the Account screen, you can configure:

Weekly reminders — a once-a-week nudge to add a new memory
Daily reminders — a daily prompt to capture something from your day
Family updates — notifications when activity happens in your family's shared space

Choose the frequency that fits your life. You can turn notifications on or off anytime — there's no pressure to write every day. Even one memory a week builds a remarkable archive over time.

While you're on the Account screen, you'll also find:

Manage Subscription — view your current plan, upgrade, or manage billing
Help & Support — reach our team or chat with the AI guide bot
Referrals — share Memory Murals with friends and earn credit
Sign Out — log out of your account on this device

Your profile is the foundation of your Memory Murals experience. A quick setup now makes every future memory feel a little more personal.
