Adding Photos, Videos & Documents
Attach photos, videos, audio files, and documents to your memories to bring them to life.
A memory is more than words. Adding photos, videos, and documents brings your stories to life — giving future generations something to see, hear, and hold onto. Memory Murals makes it easy to attach files to any memory.
How to Add Media to a Memory
Attaching Files
Open the memory editor
Create a new memory with the + button, or tap an existing memory to edit it.
Tap the media button
Look for the photo/media button in the memory editor. Tap it to open your file picker.
Choose your files
Select one or more files from your device. You can also choose files already uploaded to your Media Library.
Files attach to the memory
Selected files appear as thumbnails in the memory editor. They're uploaded to your secure storage and linked to this memory.
Save
Tap Save to finalize. Your media is now part of this memory.
Supported File Types
Memory Murals supports a wide range of file types:
Photos
JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Perfect for snapshots, scanned photos, and screenshots.
Videos
MP4 and MOV video files. Capture moving moments — birthday celebrations, first steps, family gatherings.
Audio
Audio recordings and music files. Preserve a loved one's voice, a family song, or an interview.
Documents
PDFs and Word documents. Save letters, recipes, medical records, legal documents, or handwritten notes you've scanned.
Multiple Files Per Memory
You can attach more than one file to a single memory. This is especially useful for:
- Events — add a dozen photos from a family reunion to one memory
- Before and after — show how a place or person changed over time
- Mixed media — combine a photo with a scanned letter or a video with a document
Add media to older memories too
Found a box of old photos? Scan them and add them to existing memories on your Timeline. Tap any memory, hit edit, and attach the new files. Your memories grow richer over time.
Media Library
Every file you upload also appears in your Media Library (the Media tab). This gives you a centralized view of all your photos, videos, and documents — independent of which memory they're attached to. You can browse, search, and manage files from there.
Storage Limits
Your storage depends on your plan:
- Free plan — 1 GB of storage
- Trial and Premium — 25 GB of storage
Photos and short videos use very little space. For reference, 25 GB can hold roughly 10,000 photos or several hours of video — more than enough for most families.
Keep originals on your device
Memory Murals stores a copy of your files securely in the cloud. We recommend keeping originals on your device or in another backup as well — it's always good to have more than one copy of irreplaceable files.
Start adding photos to your memories today. A story with a picture is a story that comes alive every time you revisit it.
