Uploading Files

Upload photos, videos, audio, and documents to your personal Media Library.

Your Media Library is a personal cloud storage space for all the files that tell your family's story. Here's how to get files into it.

How to Upload

  1. Go to the Media tab in the app
  2. Tap the upload button or drag and drop files directly onto the page
  3. Your files upload automatically to your personal cloud storage

You can upload multiple files at once. Each file uploads in the background so you can keep using the app while it finishes.

Supported File Types

Memory Murals accepts a wide range of file formats:

  • Photos — JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC
  • Videos — MP4, MOV
  • Audio — MP3, WAV, WebM
  • Documents — PDF, Word, Excel

HEIC Support

If you're uploading photos from an iPhone, HEIC files work perfectly. No need to convert them first.

Storage Limits

Each plan comes with a set amount of cloud storage:

| Plan | Storage | |------|---------| | Free | 1 GB | | Trial | 25 GB | | Premium | 25 GB |

You can check your current storage usage in Account settings, where a storage bar shows how much space you've used.

Tips for Uploading

  • Photos are usually small (2-5 MB each), so you can upload hundreds within your storage limit
  • Videos use the most space — a one-minute video can be 100+ MB depending on quality
  • Compress large photos before uploading if you want to save space (most phones have a "reduce file size" option)
  • Shorter video clips are easier to store and faster to upload than long recordings

Upload Size

Very large files may take longer to upload, especially on slower connections. If an upload seems stuck, check your internet connection and try again.

What Happens After Upload

Once uploaded, your files appear in the Media Library grid. From there you can preview them, attach them to memories, or organize them. Every file is stored securely in your personal cloud — no one else can access them.
