Answering Weekly Prompts

Learn how to answer Legacy prompts using text or voice recording at your own pace.

Legacy prompts are designed to unlock the stories you carry but rarely share. New prompts appear weekly, giving you a fresh reason to open the app and reflect. Here's how to make the most of them.

Finding Your Prompts

Open the Legacy tab to see all available prompts. New prompts are highlighted so you can spot them easily. You'll find questions covering childhood, family traditions, career moments, life lessons, and more.

How to Answer a Prompt

  1. Tap any prompt that catches your eye
  2. Type your answer in the text field — write as much or as little as you'd like
  3. Or use voice recording — tap the microphone icon, speak naturally, and the AI transcribes your words for you
  4. Tap Save when you're finished

That's it. Your answer is saved as a private note in your Legacy collection.

No Expiration

Prompts never expire. A prompt from three weeks ago is just as available as one from today. Answer them in any order, at any time. There's no wrong way to do this.

Tips for Better Answers

  • Be specific. Instead of "We had fun holidays," try "Every Thanksgiving, my grandmother made sweet potato pie and let me lick the spoon."
  • Include names. Mention the people who were there. It makes the story come alive.
  • Don't overthink it. First thoughts are often the best. You can always come back and edit later.
  • Use your voice. Speaking often feels more natural than typing, especially for emotional stories. The AI handles the transcription so you can focus on the memory.

Coming Back to Edit

Changed your mind about something? Want to add a detail you forgot? Tap any answered prompt to reopen it. You can edit your text, add more, or rewrite the whole thing. Your original answer is always saved until you choose to change it.

Voice Recording Needs a Plan

Voice recording and AI transcription are available on Trial and Premium plans. On the Free plan, you can still type your answers manually.

Building Your Story Over Time

Think of each prompt as one page in your autobiography. Answering just one prompt a week gives you over 40 answered prompts in a year — a meaningful collection of stories that captures who you are and what you've lived through. The key is simply to start.
